Including detailed recreations of various totem poles and a reproduced 19th-century native clan house, Totem Bight State Historic Park gives visitors a glimpse into the traditional arts and crafts of native Alaskans. The beautifully carved and painted clan house represents a traditional house which would serve as the home to some 50 persons, while the totem poles show the diverse symbols used by the native peoples. The state park is located 10 miles north of Ketchikan, in an area that was a former fishing cove.
